2/7/2024 0 Comments Keyboard layout editor aliceI am posting a link to the Windows executable that will revert back the KB's firmware as well as a Discord timestamp if anybody wants to grab it directly from there. In my opinion, a keyboard is only as good as it's supporting software. I am sorry I have not been more active but honestly after liking the keyboard so much and praising for both, its form factor (I love Alice), portability and connectivity options I had no longer anything good to say. I tested it on a VM for I still do not trust their shady SW, but macros and keyboard functionality seemed right on the 2.4 GHz dongle, did not try BT. Fortunately through their Discord I was able to get firmware to roll back to their proprietary version. TL DR: Apparently there are other versions of the PCB which depends from where the vendor bought the keyboard (mine was from Drop) so they cannot offer me support on Via for my issue. Īfter WhatGeek's final reply I was so disenchanted with the keyboard that I just stored it and have not taken it out again. Here is a link to the video I created for them showcasing the issue. I have raised a ticket to WhatGeek explaining the issues and hopefully they can help us all. Also, macro creation is not working, from Via, or by modifying the JSON layout and uploading it to the keyboard. This means that keys G, C, V, B, and N are dead keys until a solution is found. The connection mode is reachable from any layout, this is a software bug indeed, but I lack at the moment the knowledge to fix it or to understand how to flash custom firmware on this PCB. Feel free to comment, I will gladly reply. I was pleasantly surprised and this post is just my appreciation for the community and this board. I will keep playing around with the configuration file as well as Via to see if there is something I can do to provide others a solution. Special characters, such as "GESC" are not working. ![]() ![]() Just scroll down and select the appropriate keyboard model.Ĭurrently I have 3 issues with the board working on Via: Here's the link for the page I downloaded everything. You can use the web app version of Via, no need to install its desktop version.Meaning that: Fn+N will always be "wired mode", FN+G will always be "2.4 GHz mode", and FN+C/V/B will always be "Bluetooth 1/2/3". You WILL be able to remap the function key, but, you WILL NOT be able to change the keyboard connectivity shortcuts. You retain wireless capabilities and any layout you configured, but remapping is only allowed through wired mode. You do not need QMK or its toolbox, it uses a custom software. To clear the doubts I had when flashing Via and could not find any answers: When I got into the folder I saw this weird executable that reads "AudioRecord.exe", which sounds very fishy to me, so I ditched it and went straight to upgrade my experience to Via! I really love the layout, the build quality, the typing experience, and the looks! I tried installing the software, and as many owers of this board found out, the system recognizes the software as virus. ![]() I recently got my hands on a Feker Alice 80, and gotta say, the thing is SOLID.
